This course gives an in-depth description of sound intensity measurements including calibration and pI-index, sound power determination and noise source mapping. The theoretical parts are combined with practical measurements and demonstrations and the participants are given extensive opportunities to perform measurements on their own.
- To teach the fundamentals of Sound Intensity measurements including calibration.
- To explain how to use the sound field descriptors like pressure-intensity index.
- To teach and demonstrate how to use Sound Intensity for sound power determination.
- To teach and demonstrate how to use Sound Intensity for noise source mapping, location and identification.
Basic knowledge in mathematics and physics and concepts of sound pressure, decibels and frequency analysis of sound is recommended
