Environmental Noise Management Software Type 7802
The software covers 4 areas:
1. Configuring the Noise Monitoring Terminals
2. Downloading data from Noise Monitoring Terminals
3. Storing data in a database
4. Database browsing and reporting
Configuring the Noise Monitoring Terminals
Its possible to configure each NMT in order to adjust its basic parameters, e.g., Single Event Trigger Level, Minimum Duration and Day/Night Settings. The changes to the setup will take place the next time the NMTs are scheduled to download data.
Downloading data from Noise Monitoring Terminals
The Brüel & Kjær software package Type 7802 for monitoring environmental noise will, once has been installed and started, run automatically. All the user has to do, after loading the software, is to type in the necessary communication and configuration parameters for each Noise Monitoring Terminal. The software is designed for a central PC linked via an auto-dial modem and public telephone lines to permanently installed "dial-up" Noise Monitoring Terminals Type 3597.
At user defined time settings, say at midnight, a special process will initiate the computer to start the downloading process. All data accumulated since the previous service call will then be transferred to the central PC.
Storing data in a database
The downloaded data are stored in files on the PC's hard disk. There is a file for each type of data, i.e. hourly statistical reports, calibration reports and noise events. The conversion process converts the files to database files in dBase III format and also generates additional periodic reports, which are stored in specially allocated database files.
Database browsing
By using the "Database LookUp" the user is able to examine, in detail, the contents of all noise data stored in the database. "Database LookUp" allows access to all databases, i.e. Calibrations, Events and Statistical reports. By using the advanced
SQL technique, it is possible to extract and present almost any required information from the database.
Another way to extract data from the database is to use the new Reporting Module. (see Reporting, Type 7802)
