The 214x

The 214x family of analyzers measures noise and vibration wherever you encounter it. Whether you require a powerful bus-controlled frequency analyzer, or an analyzer with the portability and ease-of-use of a sound level meter, the 214x family has the ideal solution. And if your portable analyzer requirements change, Brüel & Kjær's flexible instrument design allows you to upgrade your analyzer, within the family, by installing the appropriate hardware and/or software.

Weighing less than 10kg and with water-resistant front panels, the family of portable analyzers can be taken almost anywhere. You can store your results directly in the analyzer's non-volatile memory or use the built-in disk drive. Operation is based on interactive menus and on-screen help pages enabling you to make full use of the analyzer's potential in the field.

Types 2144 and 2148 are respectively dual-channel CPB and FFT analyzers with simultaneous measurement of the A- and B- channels, and sound intensity or cross-spectrum measurements. Cross-spectra and the two autospectra are measured simultaneously and represented, e.g., as active/reactive intensity, mean pressure/particle velocity, real/imaginary part and phase/amplitude. Calculation of three frequency response functions and coherence function is possible in cross-spectrum mode.

Type 2143 is the same as Type 2144 but without cross functions.

Order Tracking Analyzer Type 2145 offers a unique solution - order tracking and fractional octave analysis with a single measurement. This offers higher confidence measurements and marks Type 2145 as an analyzer to be reckoned with whether you are making diagnostic measurements on static rotating machines, or standardised in-car and pass-by measurements on the open road.

Type 2145 offers a host of specialist features for the dedicated automotive engineer, ranging from dashboard-mounted remote control unit and direct powering from a cigarette lighter socket, to a turnkey software-controlled system for standardised pass-by noise measurements.

Bus-controlled analyzers Types 2140 and 2141 are designed for use in fixed measurement setups and are controlled by an external computer via the IEEE-488 or RS-232 interface. Three analyzers can be mounted side-by-side in a 19" rack and up to 14 analyzers can be configured as a multi-channel analysis system with a standard IEEE controller. Applications include vehicle and aircraft testing, quality control and environmental noise and vibration measurement.
