Impact Testing

PULSE Lite Basic 2-channel FFT Analyzer Type 3560 L-L02

  • Use an instrumented impact hammer to do ping testing
  • Measure objects' resonant (natural) frequencies and damping
  • Acquire measurements for Modal Analysis and Finite Element Model updating

Typical impact test setup:

Demonstration Video

Vibration Pattern of an Engine Block
Video presentation illustrating how structural information may be acquired in a short time and by simple means using the PULSE Lite Impact Testing Analyzer. Measurements are performed on an engine block using hammer excitation and the vibration signals are measured with an accelerometer with built-in TEDS. After the measurements are made, the vibration pattern of the engine block is illustrated using Quadrature Picking.
