NVH Vehicle Simulator
To replicate quality use of all your available NVH data, Brüel & Kjær’s simulator program accurately recreates the noise and vibration of a vehicle in a user-interactive environment. This ensures the R&D department’s best possible use of customer preferences and satisfaction profiles, specific differentiations towards competitors as well as a design unique profile for the concept and design development stages that provide much faster and more efficient way of working with future design of vehicle sound and vibration.
The NVH Vehicle Simulator program is available as three systems:
Desktop NVH Simulator
For use in the R&D office, this enables the development team to experience the sounds of the vehicle driving through free-driving scenarios that can be changed in a split second and show the resulting noise changes.
Full-vehicle NVH Simulator
This is a project-based solution where the R&D department or the NVH manager decides on the vehicle to be used, including the add-on vibration for various parts of the car such as the seat, the pedals and the steering wheel.
The test driver sits in the vehicle in front of a projection screen where a virtual scenario is projected and experiences the sounds and vibration of the vehicle being assessed while “driving through” the planned test program.
The Simulator responds to the driver’s input and reproduces the correct sound and vibration which is representative of the scenario. Just like in a real vehicle, the stimuli are affected by changes in the road surface, vehicle speed, driving behaviour and throttle position.
On-road Vehicle NVH Simulator
Allows the test driver to evaluate the harmonic sounds from any of the above simulator programs while driving the real vehicle in a pre-designed test program.
