The units have very high input impedance, presenting virtually no load to the transducer. Both units have built-in TEDS and low-pass filters. They can be powered from the 7-pin LEMO microphone socket on Brüel & Kjær instruments. The low output impedance means that up to 30 m of cable can be connected between the preamplifier and the measurement equipment without introducing distortion.
The main application is in analysis systems where bridge transducers such as variable capacitance accelerometers, piezoresistive accelerometers and pressure transducers are used.
Type 2697 is DC coupled and has no gain, whereas Type 2697 A is AC coupled and has three switchable gain settings. Furthermore, Type 2697 A has a variable input balance and output offset, adjustable by potentiometers.
