HATS: The Preferred Telecom Ear
– Brüel & Kjær’s Effort on Driving Standardisation
A large scale Round Robin test has been carried out within ITU-T, the International Telecommunication Union – Telecommunication Standardisation Sector. ITU-T makes international telecom standards – and Brüel & Kjær has contributed to this work for many years. The recent comparative acoustic impedance measurements on Brüel & Kjær’s Head and Torso Simulator (HATS), the Head Acoustics HATS and on more than 100 humans nominates Brüel & Kjær’s HATS ear as the most realistic, with few reservations.
ITU is based in Geneva, Switzerland, next to the United Nations building. Its membership includes about 190 states and more than 700 sector- and associate members. ITU is the leading United Nations agency for information and communication and international standards and recommendations are made within all areas of telecommunication.
