Calibration of Analyzers

For Analyzers Brüel & Kjær can provide Accredited Calibration, Traceable Calibration and Instrument Verification.

Why should I calibrate PULSE front-end?

We recommend that you calibrate PULSE regularly - annually or every other year if you need to:

  • Know if values shifted in one of the channels
  • See data indicating whether the instruments are drifting
  • Prove measurement traceability
  • Prove calibration of the entire measurement chain

An accredited calibration ensures that the analyzer measures correctly in the specified measurement range.

Using a Sound Calibrator on site measures sensitivity at 1kHz at 94 dB and ensures correct acoustical response.

Accredited Calibration

Brüel & Kjær can provide these types of accreditation for PULSE:

  • DANAK (English certificate)
  • A2LA (English certificate)
  • DKD (German certificate)

Initial Calibration

To start the calibration history from day one, we recommend that you order accredited calibration together with your new PULSE Analyzer.

Regular Re-calibration

With annual calibration data, you will have an unbroken calibration history to use as reference, either for internal requirements, for audit required by authorities or at the request of your customers. The shorter the period between calibrations, the lower the risk of  measurements being questionable.

Measurements

For PULSE analyzers the calibration measurements and acceptance limits are selected in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications for PULSE version 8.0 and later.

Measurements are traceable to, for example, DPLA, NIST, NPL and PTB.

Optionally PULSE modules (Types 3560-B, -C, -D, and -E) can be calibrated according to Sound Level Meter standard IEC 60651.

Add-on products

Filter Calibration (additional fee)

  • Calibration of filter response for 1/1-octave and 1/3-octave filters according to IEC 61260 for the range 6.3Hz to 20 kHz
  • Number of filters as specified by customer

Certificate

With the accredited certificate you get:

  • Proof that calibration has been performed according to quality requirements in ISO 17025
  • Measured frequency response with associated uncertainties
  • Internationally accepted certificate
  • Calibration conditions: Air temperature, air pressure and relative humidity
  • The logo of the Accreditation Body

Traceable Calibration

Measurements

For PULSE Analyzers the calibration measurements and acceptance limits are selected in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications for PULSE version 8.0 and later.

Measurements are traceable to, for example, DPLA, NIST, NPL and PTB.

Certificate

Includes measurement results

Verification/Conformance Test

Brüel & Kjær can provide instrument verification:

  • A Conformance Test certifies that the instrument has been tested, has passed all production tests and complies with the manufacturer's published specifications.
  • You will receive Certificate of Conformance

Please be aware that instrument verification does not contain measurement results.
