Repair

Q: Can I use the service request form for both calibration and repair?
A: Yes

Q: My instrument has failed. What information do you need from me?
A: Please use the service request form  that will guide you through the required information.
It will save you time when you provide a comprehensive fault description.

Q: What is a comprehensive fault description?
A: Please supply a description of serial number, type number, what the problem is,  connections to other instruments, which applications are used and if there are any special circumstances when fault occurs.

Q: What can I do to ensure fast return of my instrument?
A: Please provide all necessary information as listed above. If possible, also approve the fixed repair price supplied by Bruël & Kjær, or specify a maximum amount. If your company requires a purchase order number, please provide it.

Q: Can you repair discontinued products?
A: Yes. We can repair the instrument  for five years after discontinuation. See terms and conditions. For products discontinued more than five years ago, repair may be possible, please request a quote.

Q: What if you cannot repair my instrument?
A: Please ask your local representative for an attractive offer on a new instrument.

Q: What if my transducer cannot be repaired?
A: Please ask  your local representative for a trade-in offer.

Q: How can I find out the price of the repair before you do the work?
A: Please contact your local Brüel & Kjær representative with type number, serial number and fault description. In most situations we can offer you a fixed price.

Warranty

Q: What is the standard warranty on Brüel & Kjær instruments?
A: One year

Q: Is a one- year warranty valid for all Brüel & Kjær instruments?
A: For microphones and Falcon Range preamplifiers we provide three years warranty.

Q: How can I get longer warranty?
A: You can extend it through a service agreement.

Q: My instrument has failed during the warranty period, what do I do?
A: Please fill in the service request form which will guide you through the required information. We will contact you to confirm the request and arrange the repair job.

Q: How will I know if the repair is under warranty or not?
A: If the problem occurred during the first year after purchase, and provided it is not damaged through unauthorised use, then it is covered by warranty. Please also see terms & conditions.
