TAC15

Torsional accelerometer

Designed to measure geometry errors in rotating structures for end-of-line gear and transmission testing

Demande de devis

Torsional accelerometer TAC15 tests rotating components while they are under operating loads and conditions.  This enables the evaluation of noise-related geometry errors. TAC15 measures speed change in the form of torsional acceleration. There are two methods for error detection:

  • Indirect: Evaluation of angular deviation from the ideal transmission according to DIN 3960
  • Direct: Measurement of torsional acceleration. Results in a quantity that is proportional to the forces introduced by bearings and, through those, into assembly vibrations

USE SCENARIOS

  • Production testing for gears and transmissions
  • Online production testing for geometry errors in rotating components
  • Outgoing quality control

CHARACTERISTICS

The TAC15 torsional accelerometer consists of a fixed body mounted to the test stand and a ring that encompasses a test-stand axle. The fixed body inductively provides power supply for the ring and receives the sensor data via infrared LEDs. The ring contains two linear accelerometers that are in 180 degree, opposing positions. Their signals are added in the software, so all lateral accelerations are cancelled out. The ring also contains the A/D converters and related processing.

CAPABILITIES

  • Easy mounting: The rotor casing is split so that the sensor can be quickly mounted on shafts and axles without altering the test item
  • Fits a wide range of shaft diameters: The sensor is available in three sizes:
    • Up to 60 mm
    • 60 – 75 mm
    • 75 – 90 mm
