ATA Engineering is a leading independent consultancy firm specialising in the design, testing and analysis of complex mechanical structures. ATA provides Brüel & Kjær with engineering services, supporting Brüel & Kjær with product design, marketing, applications and customer relations.
ATA Engineering has recently been named the winner of the 2012 George M. Low award; NASA’s premier quality and performance award recognising excellence in the agency’s contractors.
ATA’s purchase of a 208-channel LAN-XI data acquisition system, to be used together with the Brüel & Kjær PULSE Reflex suite of Structural Analysis applications, will provide ATA with state-of-the-art measurement and analysis tools for dynamic structural analysis.
Vice President of Test Services, ATA Engineering, Ralph Brillhart said: “Brüel & Kjær’s LAN-XI data acquisition hardware will enhance and expand ATA’s ability to provide innovative structural dynamics test solutions to our customers. Unique features, such as distributed acquisition through Power over Ethernet and the NOTAR stand-alone recorder, will allow ATA to deliver services in new, flexible ways to our customers in the aerospace, entertainment and industrial equipment industries. Measurement quality and process efficiency are key to the value ATA provides. The technology and quality of Brüel & Kjær’s instruments and software are essential components to the services we provide our customers.”
Since 2007 Brüel & Kjær and ATA have collaborated on a number of industry application projects, such as the investigation of jet-plume noise and providing joint Brüel & Kjær/ATA Ground Vibration Test (GVT) seminars in different countries.
Brüel & Kjær’s Global Key Account Manager, Patrick Wethly said: “With ATA Engineering’s decision to acquire the PULSE LAN-XI hardware, we are further strengthening the relationship between our companies. ATA is involved in the design of our Structural PULSE Reflex solutions from a specification point of view and is also a supplier of domain knowledge, which we implement into our solutions under license. For example, we offer ATA’s AFPoly curve fitter to our customers as part of our modal test software solution. Furthermore, ATA is assisting Brüel & Kjær on a global scale through our services, allowing us to combine ATA’s “head-of-the-class” domain knowledge with our product portfolio.”
