PULSE Sound Quality Software
Windows based PULSE™ Sound Quality Software Type 7698 is the core of your sound quality analysis system. The software is fast and easy to use, saving you time and money. It provides a direct interface with the exciting Psychoacoustic Test Bench, assuring a complete sound quality solution.
OLE automation (ActiveX™) provides a means of controlling the sound quality software from other applications. OLE automation is a tool that tightly and efficiently integrates other software packages, including PULSE, giving you increased efficiency and ensured repeatability of the system setup. OLE automation also allows such user customisation as creating macros for repetitive operations that may be needed for quality control applications. You can also customise cursor readings. Metrics, special calculations or combinations of standard metrics can be quickly and easily tested, requiring only minor coding in Visual Basic®.
Real-time filters offer editing with filters similar to classic analogue types. When the filter shape is changed with the cursor, it immediately affects the playback of the sound file
With Portable PULSE, recordings of the data in .DAT file format can be read by the Type 7698 software and transformed into wave files for easy operation.
Other features are that Zwicker Loudness metrics and A-weighted levels can be displayed as functions of RPM. Envelope analysis can be employed to quantify fluctuations and modulations.
The Psychoacoustic Test Bench software organises subjective and objective tests and correlates the results into a combination metric. It runs in an Excel spreadsheet and controls the Sound Quality software using OLE. Everything is automated and the subjective tests can be performed using the Internet, Intranet etc.
The recording of 4 channels – two binaural sound signals and two tacho signals – can be done in various ways:
- Using PULSE front-end Type 3560 B
- Using NEXUS as a front-end with a PCMCIA card and the built-in sound card in the portable PC
