COURSE OVERVIEW:

This course will be offered over two sessions, for three hours per day

  • April 20 – 21; 11:00am - 2:00pm ET (New York)

Note: Registering for this course, registers you for both days.

The course follows the work completed in the Fundamentals in Sound and Vibration course and describes more advanced techniques of acoustic measurements including sound quality, sound power, sound intensity and acoustic array analysis, and likewise, more advanced techniques for both acoustic and vibration measurements including modal analysis, order analysis and source path contribution. A structured approach and associated techniques for identifying the sources of noise and vibration issues are presented with related case studies. Some control techniques to reduce and “shape” sound and vibration at the source and along the path are described.

The course is directed toward engineers, technicians and managers who are looking to start applying solutions to their noise and vibration issues. Time is allotted during each day to address questions related to the course materials and also attendee’s current noise and vibration issues.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

  • The important factors that drive noise and vibration measurements including meeting standards, and improving product quality, product competitiveness and product reliability
  • An understanding of the methods and tools typically utilized to solve product noise and vibration problems
  • Review of actual time domain, frequency domain and time-frequency domain results data to understand fundamental details within the data that can be extracted to help understand and solve noise and vibration issues
