LDS V8800 + XPA-K Shaker System FAQs:

The V8800 can be mounted in three standard positions: base mounted, Lin-E-Air trunnion mounted, or as a combo-mounted shaker with an HBT (hydrostatic bearing) or LPT  (low pressure) slip table. If your testing requirements differ, the HBK LDS project team will be able to find a bespoke solution for you.
The V8800 + XPA-K is available with one armature size (440 mm) and can either be equipped with an XPA-K64K or XPA-K88K amplifier, depending on what is required.
As shown, we can make huge savings on power consumption and decarbonisation. Using the system at 25% annually will mean an energy saving of 50%. By using the shaker at an annual power ratio of 70% means a reduction of 131 mWh or 31 tonnes of CO2.

All tests on an electro-dynamic shaker (including shock tests) require certain electrical power to run the test and this is defined by the voltage and amps. When the shaker requirements exceed the electrical capabilities of the power amplifier (either volts or current), it is addressed by connecting the shaker and amplifier via a transformer that matches the requirements (hence the term matching transformer, MTX).

For the new V8800 shaker powered by the XPAK amplifier it is possible as a standard feature to adjust the electrical power requirements of the shaker for this test to be met by the output of the XPAK without the need for the MTX.

We can accommodate special requirements for most projects, from customer head expanders and slip tables and more. Please contact your local VTS sales specialist to find out more.
We will let you know when this has been published – but a great question.
If you placed an order today, the standard lead time  would be approximately four months. We are generating a lot of interest in this product.
We have a number of different configurations available, so the best approach would be to contact your local sales representative for a quotation and we can then configure a system that best suits your needs.
